Metal Conversions is one of the nation’s leading scrap metal recycling and tolling operators.
Our experience in the secondary smelting industry allows us to provide our suppliers with direct to consumer pricing with a superior customer service experience.
Metal Conversions was formed in 1997 when Steve Senser, the owner of Cousins Inc., began his partnership with longtime aluminum industry veteran Robert Carey with the goal of using innovative concepts to modernize aluminum trading and smelting.
Among their innovations was the concept of making secondary aluminum foundry alloys out of rotary furnaces and they developed a method for removing lithium from aluminum lithium alloys.
In 1999 Carl Roark, another aluminum industry veteran, joined the team as a partner and in 2001 Metal Conversions and Cousins Inc. merged into one company.
Metal Conversions buys and sells all types of scrap metal including aluminum, copper, brass, zinc, iron and steel. They melt aluminum scrap at many facilities around the United States and their tolling arrangements with multiple locations minimizes freight cost for their suppliers.
